Rant.

I don’t know why I’m deciding now to say something about this, but I’m kind of disappointed in what our music scene is becoming.  I understand that some of you will read this and say “Oh this kid doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” or “This kid hasn’t been going to shows long enough to know anything.” But I’ve been around long enough to know that what hardcore is becoming isn’t what it was meant to be at all.  These days it seem that shows have turned from a place where we could all get together, have fun, and forget about the fucked up world we live in into more of a “dick-measuring contest” so to speak. Everything seems to be about who is tougher than who.  I mean I’ve even found myself succumbing to this sort of attitude.  But recently I’ve been seeing that the whole “tough guy” attitude is kind of overrated and stupid.  I would rather just have fun at shows than worry about looking cool.  Also It’s cool that new people are coming into the scene but what’s not cool is that most of them only started coming to shows because it’s the “new thing”.  I mean aren’t people like that the reason that most of us got into hardcore in the first place?  I guess I just wish we would all get back to the strong bond of brotherhood and friendship that we used to have.  But honestly I don’t even know why I’m typing this.  No one is gonna read this and my opinion won’t change anything.
